Quickstart

Install LYTE through the installer to get started quickly.

Quick Installer Method

  1. Download the LYTE Installer

Important: Windows sometimes flags this file. You may need to temporarily disable Real-time protection during installation.

  2. Run LYTE_Installer.exe and follow the installation prompts
  3. The program can be easily uninstalled through Windows Settings if needed

Linux Support: LYTE currently does not work on Linux. We would greatly appreciate any help making it work! If you're interested in contributing Linux support, please check out the GitHub repository and consider opening an issue or pull request.

First Launch

When you first launch LYTE:

  1. Enter your livestream ID: In the settings window, change YOUTUBE_VIDEO_ID to your livestream ID
    • The livestream ID is the characters at the end of your YouTube URL after ?v=
    • Example: For https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4qJeIjNd2U, the ID is C4qJeIjNd2U
  2. Optional: Adjust other settings (see Configuration for details)
  3. Click "Save and Start"
  4. Control Panel opens: A separate window will open where you can:
    • Play/pause music
    • Skip songs or go back
    • Refresh the UI
    • Change volume
    • Scrub through music
    • Edit settings while running
    • Toggle light/dark mode

Important Notes

Important: Always use the Quit button to close LYTE. Closing the window directly may not close the program correctly, requiring you to close the terminal manually.
